So I finally have everything together for my December Daily album this year. I was torn between doing the 6x8 Snap album again this year or doing an 8 1/2 x 11 album. Last year the pages in the Snap album just didn't seem big enough for what I really wanted to do. I prefer to scrap 4x6 photos and didn't really like the "project life" style layout. It seemed to take a lot more planning than I really wanted to do to make everything fit. Plus last year both boys were in school and I wanted to incorporate their artwork into the album which didn't really look as nice as it would in a bigger album. So I finally decided to do the 8 1/2 x 11 album.
After lots of searching, I found this album at Michaels. It's kraft so I can alter it however I want. We'll see how much fun I have.. I have some ideas brewing! Then I got a lot of my supplies for my kit at The Memory Nest this year. I'm mixing and matching several collections.
I started out with the collection Hello December by Glitz.
Then I added the Finley collection by Glitz. Even though it was designed as a baby collection, the patterns are really universal and the colors match nicely with Hello December.
Then, because I really love the chalkboard trend this year, I had to add some papers from Heidi Swapp's Believe collection.
And Little Yellow Bicycle's Making Merry.
Then of course, add in the embellishments that come in the Finley and Hello December Collection packs.
Some LYB stickers, Heidi Swapp mistables, and die cuts.
Then I went through my stash and found all sorts of goodies to coordinate....
and even more goodies....
and some extra paper from DCWV. I like to use patterned paper as my background, so I knew my kit needed to be paper-heavy!
Then I added some mists from The Memory Nest - colorshine Black, Cherry, and Mustard, then Mister Huey's Blizzard and white distress paint from my stash.
I added some stamps, although not sure if I'm going to use more than the alphabet stamps but we'll see.
And no kit is complete without washi tape and some ribbon and twine! I've been pretty bad about using my ribbon lately so I'm going to try to use this up.
And finally, here is how I have my kit stored, ready for me to work on!
Thank you for checking out my kit. Be sure to check back in December as I complete my book!
Your kit looks amazing. I have pulled a ton of stuff and now I need to go through it and see if it matches. lol

ReplyDeleteGreat kit and I love how you have it all stored I think I am going to run to the dollar store and grab myself a bin. I ordered some as well and I am working on building my own December Daily Kit. I am super excited but I haven't decided if I am going to use a 6x8 album or the 8x8 album that I used last year.
ReplyDeleteLooks great, can't wait to see your pages!
